 Self-Guided Tours

Embark on a cycling adventure with 718 Outdoors Self-Guided Tours, designed for both individuals/groups. Having lead over 175 group self-supported bikepacking trips, I know what can go wrong and how to make things go right. Navigating the best routes, accommodations, and logistics for a new route on your own can be daunting. Let me handle the complexities to ensure a unforgettable cycling experience. Focus on the ride, and I'll take care of the rest!

Our Self-Guided Tours gives you (and your group of riders, if that's how you roll) all of the tools required to have the self-bike adventure of a lifetime. The great thing is that these tours are on your schedule, using our years of expertise.

 Trip Destinations

The destinations that we offer our Self-Guided Tours represent areas that we have travelled extensively. This "on the ground" knowledge will help make your trip more enjoyable and less stressful. If your destination isn't one of the areas listed below, don't worry!  I have planned and led over 175 self-supported bikepacking trips, and can certainly dive into a new area using the techniques I've developed over the years

  • Adirondacks, NY

  • Catskills, NY

  • Erie Canal (Buffalo to Albany to NYC)

  • Finger Lakes, NY

  • GAP/C&O (Pittsburgh to Washington DC)

  • Quebec, Canada

  • Vermont

 How it Works

Ride Sheet: (digital and printed on waterproof paper).

We have developed this idea of a Ride Sheet that basically outlines the ride on a single sheet of paper. I personally keep 1 in my pocket, one is in a waterproof bag, and then a version on my phone. See example of a Full Ride Sheet
